World Record Row at Port d’Andratx Gym Featured in Mallorca Bulletin
Port d’Andratx Gym is preparing to host a major endurance challenge on 3 October 2026, when founder James Priestley attempts to row 153,000 metres in 12 hours in support of free mental health services for the British Armed Forces community.
The event has now attracted the attention of the Mallorca Bulletin, with the challenge featured in its print and online coverage.
It means one of the first major events associated with Port d’Andratx Gym will have a target extending far beyond fitness, 1,000 free mental health support calls.
153 Kilometres in 12 Hours.
Beginning at 7am on 3 October, James will attempt to cover 153,000 metres on a Concept2 indoor rower over a continuous 12 hour period.
The challenge will test endurance, pacing, nutrition and mental resilience, with months of preparation going into a single day.
James previously won Series 5 of Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins and is also the founder of mental health platform VÕS HELP.
The objective behind the challenge is to raise £10,000 to fund 1,000 free mental health support calls for members of the British Armed Forces community.

More Than a Gym.
Port d’Andratx Gym has been designed as a modern, accessible training space for people living, working and visiting southwest Mallorca.
The gym combines strength and cardiovascular equipment with dedicated training areas and virtual class studios, alongside 24 hour member access.
Hosting the 12 hour row reflects what we want the gym to represent, somewhere people can challenge themselves, train seriously and be part of something positive within the Port d’Andratx community.
The World Record Attempt.

Start: 7am
Duration: 12 hours
Location: Port d’Andratx Gym, Mallorca

The Road to 3 October.
The final weeks of preparation are now underway.
Training has involved increasingly long sessions on the Concept2 rower while testing pacing, hydration, nutrition and rest strategies that will be used during the full 12 hour attempt.
The challenge will ultimately come down to one thing, continuing to move the handle when every part of the body is asking to stop.
Port d’Andratx Gym is proud to provide the venue for the attempt and to support a challenge with a purpose far bigger than the distance displayed on the rowing monitor.
